Advertising: Content Driver or Monetizer?

Ad spending on Web and mobile services has already climbed to $31.8 billion and is expected to double by 2011, leaving the door wide open for service providers to capitalize on this revenue stream. With devices going beyond just serving as communication tools, and operators making more content available, there is an unprecedented opportunity to target the right messages to the right consumer at the right time. Panelists will provide an overview of Mobile Advertising, metrics and growth potential. In addition, this presentation will demonstrate how providers can elevate their profiles by monitoring and measuring subscriber usage, and how advertising and inter-related services are utilized to draw in advertisers and dollars.

Helene Henriksson, Vice President, Managed Hosting Sales, North America Ericsson

Dan Nguyen, Director of Product Management, Openwave Systems
With more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Helene Henriksson holds the role of Vice President of Managed Hosting Sales within Ericsson’s Global Services organization, with key responsibility to drive managed hosting sales for North America.
She is responsible for hosting business development which includes development, integration, operations and life cycle management of new end-user services. She is also responsible for Ericsson’s content aggregation platform IPX and Ericsson’s Mobility World in North America which supply content and content management services, provide usability design and end user experience expertise. Mobility World enhances the collaboration between network operators, developers, content providers, enterprises and technology suppliers in building applications for the Mobile Internet with the end user in focus.
Previously, Ms. Henriksson held the position of Sales Manager for fixed networks and vendor services within Ericsson’s Asia and Latin America markets.
Ms. Henriksson holds a B.S. in Systems Analysis from Uppsala University in Sweden and an EMBA from Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden.
Dan Nguyen is director of product management at Openwave Systems Inc. and has over 17 years of software experience in product management, marketing, and software development, spanning wireless, Internet, and enterprise applications. Dan’s team at Openwave is responsible for the planning, development, and go-to-market strategy for Openwave’s advertising and personalization solutions, which span Openwave’s product portfolio. Dan has also led product initiatives across Openwave’s Web 2.0 messaging solutions, mobile infrastructure, and developer software groups.
Prior to Openwave, Dan held product management positions at Sun Microsystems and at startups in Internet consumer services and management. He also held management positions at Procter & Gamble early in his career.
Dan holds a BS in Operations Research & Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard University.
